Recently, NIO and Mobileye, the world’s leading autonomous driving technology company under Intel, jointly announced a strategic cooperation. The two parties will build L4-level autonomous vehicles based on NIO’s second-generation vehicle platform. Through this cooperation, NIO will become the first brand in the world to achieve L4-level autonomous driving on mass-produced models, and will continue to maintain its leading position in the high-end smart electric vehicle market.
NIO has a close partnership with Mobileye. The NIO ES8 is the world’s first mass-produced model equipped with the Mobileye EyeQ4 chip. The in-depth cooperation between the two parties is aimed at the passenger car market and the field of intelligent travel services, and will build L4-level autonomous driving intelligent electric models on the second-generation platform of NIO. Mobileye is responsible for providing the leading Mobileye EyeQ? system chip and related software, while NIO is responsible for the development, integration and mass production of vehicle-level autonomous driving systems. In addition, Mobileye will also purchase models specially customized by NIO for intelligent travel services in batches to realize its strategic layout in the field of intelligent travel services.
